Recovery Reiki - Optional Activity
7:00 AM EDT - 8:00 AM
Activity
Presented by:Tara Moreno-Wallen

Reiki is an ancient Japanese practice discovered by Mikao Usui that uses light touch to promote healing in the body, mind, and spirit. Recovery Reiki ® is a program developed by Tara Moreno-Wallen that specifically targets the pain-body that keeps a person in negative cyclical patterns when it relates to addiction, codependency, and trauma.

This session will help you break free of those patterns so you can live a life of peace, love, bliss, and joy. Recovery Reiki® will help you get to the root cause of any addictions, codependent relationships, and any trauma associated with these afflictions.

Recovery Dharma - Optional Activity
8:00 PM EDT - 9:00 PM
Activity

Recovery Dharma gathers to explore a Buddhist-inspired approach to recovery from addiction of all kinds. We are peer-led and do not follow any one leader or teacher, but trust in the wisdom of the Buddha (the potential for our own awakening), the Dharma (the truth, or the teachings), and the Sangha (our community of wise friends on this path). Recovery Dharma is a program of empowerment and doesn’t ask us to believe in anything other than our own potential to change and heal. We have found a guide for our recovery in the Buddhist teachings of the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, and we invite you to investigate these practices and principles as tools for your own path of liberation from the suffering of addiction. We understand that this is not the only path to recovery and many may choose to combine these practices with other recovery programs.

One Recovery, created by the Long Island Recovery Association, embraces the concept that there are many pathways of recovery and we welcome everyone including: those in treatment, affected family members, individuals who use medication to support their recovery, those who belong to twelve-step programs and all other pathways. Each of these groups adds an important perspective to our shared experience. Anyone affected, concerned, or interested in addiction and recovery is welcome here.
