The Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon (MHAAO) is an inclusive, peer-run, community-based nonprofit located in Portland, Oregon. Our mission is to promote self-directed recovery and wellness for all, honoring the voice of lived experience. We have more than 40 peer addiction and mental health recovery programs that serve the Portland-Metro area and parts of Washington State, providing peer support to adults of all ages. We also offer comprehensive national and state approved peer training and workforce development programs, including our annual peer leadership conference Peerpocalypse, for the nation’s growing peer industry; supporting the workforce’s future.

Through comprehensive, peer-led recovery services and community partnerships, we strive to empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve long-lasting recovery, health, and improved well-being.
