Hope Road Music

Hope Road Music

John Dillon is a singer/songwriter, author and producer in long-term recovery.

He began playing music and writing songs as a teenager and has been in recovery since 1992. It has only been in the last few years that these two passions have come together. Since then, John has released two CDs (and a book) of recovery music.

He now performs recovery concerts and facilitates creative writing workshops in treatment and recovery centers throughout the Northeast.

Recovery Concerts

John shares his lived recovery experience through story and song. Music allows the message to connect with listeners on a deeper level than a story simply told. The concerts include songs from his albums Hope Road and The Lighthouse Project as well as several written in collaboration with people in treatment or early recovery.

Creative Writing Workshops

Through a series of writing exercises, John takes participants on an introspective journey designed to deepen their recovery. Attendees are invited to share their writing in a safe and supportive space.

Collaborative Songwriting

Participants work together to create lyrics for an original recovery song. John edits the lyrics, writes music, and performs the completed song via Zoom or during his next visit. A professional recording of the song is available as an option.

RLS Conference

John and his wife Vivian Nesbitt will be performing at the Welcome Reception on Sunday and a special mini-concert in the Wellness Room at 1:15 pm ET on Tuesday.
