Taryn Hiatt

Taryn Hiatt is a dedicated social worker with Caring Connections at the University of Utah. With over two decades in suicide prevention, her work is deeply personal, shaped by losing her father to suicide. As the founding member and former Executive Director of AFSP Utah, she has advanced prevention efforts and supported loss survivors. She trains communities in Mental Health First Aid and QPR. After losing her mother to cancer, Taryn’s commitment to grief support deepened. She continues to offer strength and guidance, ensuring no one navigates grief alone. She is a person in long term recovery and a fierce advocate for those living with SUD or a mental health condition.
