Kim Govak

With over 19 years in sustained recovery, I am deeply committed to uplifting individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use disorder. I bring a passion for advocacy and believe that Recovery is Possible for Everyone to all my efforts.
As a former Programs Manager at Faces & Voices of Recovery, I led the Council on Accreditation of Peer Recovery Support Services (CAPRSS), collaborating with organizations to strengthen person-centered, recovery-oriented programs aligned with national standards of excellence in peer recovery support service delivery. I am a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist and have been honored to train and mentor peer leaders nationwide.
Today, through my consulting and training business, EmPanda Perspectives, I continue this mission by providing tailored technical assistance, mentoring, and professional development training opportunities to strengthen the capacity of the peer recovery workforce and promote equity-driven, culturally responsive recovery support services.
Whether through national systems-change work or community-rooted efforts, I remain focused on building connections, advancing the field, and walking alongside others on their recovery journeys.
